Resilience is commonly heard whenever the Philippines suffers from disasters. Has this concept been abused?
Natural catastrophe is an incident in which natural causes such as Earthquakes, hurricanes and flooding caused the deaths and harm done. One of the reasons why the Philippines is vulnerable to natural disaster is that the Philippines is situated along the Ring of Fire or the preferred term, the typhoon belt, where many earthquakes and eruptions can occur within its premises. Being able to predict needs is the ultimate priority.
The case of a tragedy, one of the most sharp increase is to restore contact with others. In need to fix what is already known, while at the same time filling the information gaps, in order to improve the strategic accuracy. An initiative and ingenuity to adjust to the new normal would be a common denominator between resilient countries. In recent years, it could have seen more frequent and strong natural disasters. Any genuinely resilient country will respond to this by trying to adjust to the times and mitigate the impact of disasters. Being able to predict needs is the ultimate priority. This is why the government makes it a point of planning goods, equipment, and even personnel because it should not be necessary to move long distances for relief and rescue; They should already be in those areas wherein a path of natural disasters.
#UlyssesPH; Do Filipinos get rescued? The way they beg for rescue. Those cries that are being heard and touched by the whole country. Why is this happening? Could this typhoon been a nightmare if the government focused more agendas like this?
Resilience should not be a reminder that "there is more to life than misery," but a wake-up call for the government to work hard and form itself to provide everybody with a culture of inclusiveness, full of resources so that no one is left behind, and to become responsible in the past for their misguided goals and policies because Filipinos are not sacrificial lambs.
"Following any ill-fated event like a typhoon, Filipinos naturally emanate resilience-the ability to put their rubble of their lives back together after any deranged circumstance. Undeniably, we are the kind of people who transcend beyond our misfortune with humility and patience." —Ella Hyacinth Golez
A teenager like me needs to be open minded with what possible chances are going to happen on our future. We, the youth are the future that should be open with this matter. Resilience is not effective in our country. Philippines cannot stand up on its feet immediately due to corrupted government that cannot uphold or make their wonderful plans happen. Our hands lies what the future will stand out in the upcoming years.
Indeed you are correct! I love how you emphasized that we are our country's hope. Let us be positive for a better future ahead of us. God bless!
ReplyDeleteFascinating! Your honesty and love for your country is unmeasurable.
